Basketball Recap: Lone Star Comes Up Short

Lone Star played a tough game on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Arickaree Bison 54-25. The Longhorns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-7.

Lone Star's loss came despite strong showings from James Smith and Anderson Weathers. Smith posted 11 points, while Weathers put up ten points and five boards.

Arickaree's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from BRADLEY HERMES, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine steals. What's more, HERMES also posted a 38% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2025. Another player making a difference was JACKSON CORDELL, who went 7-for-13 en route to 17 points and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Lone Star and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for Arickaree, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-5.

Looking ahead, Lone Star will challenge Caliche at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Arickaree, they will take on Byers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bison will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
