The Henry County Patriots will be taking part in a tournament against the Beech Buccaneers at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Henry County is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.
Henry County barely beat West Creek the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Patriots blew past the Coyote 10-0 on Tuesday. The Patriots not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st.
Henry County got a great performance from Turner McSwain as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts McSwain has posted over his last six games.

On the hitting side, Henry County let Logan Davidson and Chase Cameron run wild. Davidson scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Cameron scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Cameron a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Townsend, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Henry County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Creek only posted a batting average of .067.
Meanwhile, Beech came up short against Glenbard East on Tuesday, falling 12-2.
Beech also got a good showing from Watson Storey, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk).
At the plate, Beech saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grayson Kennedy, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Aiden Curry was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Beech's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Henry County, their record now sits at 12-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Henry County has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Beech struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts.
