Recap: South Lyon East Cougars vs. Novi Wildcats
It was a good run, but the South Lyon East Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Novi by a score of 52-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Lyon East in their matchups with Novi: they've now lost eight in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Novi to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase LeFevre, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. LeFevre also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Brendan Lynch , who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists.
South Lyon East's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Novi, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-2.
South Lyon East will finish 2023 at home by hosting Ford at 3:30 p.m. on December 29th. As for Novi, they will head out on the road to face off against Plymouth at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Plymouth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 457th, while Novi is ranked 163rd).
