Football Game Preview: Oak Hill Oaks vs. Wheelersburg Pirates

Oak Hill hasn't had much luck against Wheelersburg recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Oaks will be playing at home against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oak Hill took a 41-point loss the last time they faced off against Waverly, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Oaks slipped by the Tigers 13-12 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Wheelersburg faced Ironton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Pirates walked away with a 24-15 win over the Fighting Tigers. The Pirates' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Oak Hill's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Wheelersburg, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

Oak Hill was dealt a bruising 45-14 defeat at the hands of Wheelersburg in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Oaks were down 35-0.
