The Swink Lions will face off against the Limon Badgers at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Swink's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Calhan with a sharp 19-0 victory. Considering the Lions have won four matches by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Nick Paolucci made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Landon Mills was incredible, firing off two home runs, four stolen bases, and seven RBI while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Cabrera, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Swink always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Limon was able to grind out a solid win over Simla on Tuesday, taking the game 10-6. With that victory, the Badgers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
The team relied heavily on Logan Haflich, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Braxten Churchwell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Swink's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Limon, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Limon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Swink hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. It's a different story for Limon, though, as they've only averaged .225. Will they be able to contain Swink's hitters?
