Brookfield has gone 9-1 against New Fairfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Sunday. The Bobcats will be playing at home against the Rebels at 1:00 p.m. Brookfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Brookfield challenged Bethel on Saturday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Wildcats. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.

Lila Conrad made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chloe Fitzgerald, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Mary Auricchio was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
Brookfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, New Fairfield had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They won by a run and slipped past Stratford 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Rebels have posted since May 11, 2024.
Like Brookfield, New Fairfield also got a great game from a two-way player: Briana Puff. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off 11 hits. Puff was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lindsey Briggs was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sophia Callahan, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Brookfield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for New Fairfield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.
Brookfield took their win against New Fairfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Bobcats repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
