Soccer Game Preview: Hoover vs. Burbank

The Hoover Tornados will venture away from home to take on the Burbank Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoover's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Hoover will head out to face Burbank after giving up their first home loss of the season on Saturday. Hoover fell just short of Crescenta Valley by a score of 1-0. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Tornados couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in December of 2024, Burbank was forced to settle for a draw on Saturday. Neither they nor Muir could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. The Bulldogs had to tread lightly for part of the contest as Raffi Harutyunyan and Raymond Soukiazian were both handed yellow cards, which could explain the final result.

Burbank's draw gives them a new season record of 11-2-3. As for Hoover, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3-2.

Hoover came out on top in a nail-biter against Burbank in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hoover since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
