Basketball Recap: Nylan Robinson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Colonial Heights

Petersburg won the last time they faced Colonial Heights and things went their way on Friday too. The Petersburg Crimson Wave took down the Colonial Heights Colonials 76-62.

Petersburg got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nylan Robinson out in front who dropped a double-double with 31 points and ten rebounds. Petersburg is 4-1 when Robinson posts eight or more boards, but 7-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Arkell Crenshaw, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Petersburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Despite the loss, Colonial Heights still got an impressive performance from Cameron Hartsoe, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 28 points and three blocks. Hartsoe has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Za'Marion Mason was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 14 boards.

Petersburg has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Colonial Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 8-13.

Petersburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 73-68 victory against Thomas Jefferson on the 15th. As for Colonial Heights, they will head out on the road to challenge Dinwiddie at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Colonial Heights knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Dinwiddie likes a good challenge.
