Baseball Recap: Jefferson Drops Season-High Score on Kent-Meridian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jefferson). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Kent-Meridian Royals a 12-0 shutout on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Luis Sanchez tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Anderson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andre Redmond, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

The victory got Jefferson back to even at 2-2. As for Kent-Meridian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Jefferson will have a chance to go back-to-back against Kent-Meridian: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
