Baseball Recap: Zumbrota-Mazeppa Comes Up Short

Zumbrota-Mazeppa extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 7-10 in the process. They fell 8-4 to the Caledonia Warriors. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Caledonia, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games.

For Caledonia's part, Tyson Ginther was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Zumbrota-Mazeppa will challenge La Crescent at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Caledonia, they will face off against Rushford-Peterson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
