Volleyball Preview: Imperial Tigers vs. Brawley Wildcats

Imperial has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Tigers takes on the Brawley Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Last Thursday, everything went Imperial's way against Central as Imperial made off with a 3-0 victory.

Imperial was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-17, 25-21.

Imperial can attribute much of their success to Chyenne Cox, who had 12 digs and 12 assists. Cox is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Brawley entered their tilt with Central on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Spartans 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-17, 25-20, 25-21.

Imperial is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 19 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Brawley, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-11.

Imperial came out on top in a nail-biter against Brawley in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Imperial since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
