Basketball Recap: Atchison Takes a Loss

Atchison lost against Washington back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Atchison Phoenix fell to the Washington Wildcats 55-50. The Phoenix have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Antrell Wren, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Wren a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jamari Williams, who posted 11 points in addition to eight rebounds and six assists.

Atchison's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-1. As for Washington, they pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Atchison will host Schlagle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Washington, they will head out on the road to take on Highland Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highland Park will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Washington surely won't give up without a fight.
