Thunderbird gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Moon Valley Rockets 42-6. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-6.

Among those leading the charge was Melakye Little, who rushed for 44 yards and a pair of scores. Those 44 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Zychaun Little was in the mix as well, providing Thunderbird with two TDs.

Thunderbird didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of JP Stewart and Daryl Little.

Thunderbird didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-35 victory against Prescott on the 5th. As for Moon Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 50-18 loss against Buckeye on the 4th.
