Softball Recap: Gilbert Christian Comes Up Short

Gilbert Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 16-3 to the Seton Catholic Sentinels.

Gilbert Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meredith Whitehurst, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Gilbert Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Seton Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-2 record this season.

Gilbert Christian will head out on the road to take on San Tan Foothills at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Sabercats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.88 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Seton Catholic, they will welcome Apache Junction at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Prospectors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21.83 runs per game on average), something the Sentinels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
