Maize South came tearing into Tuesday's contest with 11 straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Maize Eagles by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in September.

Maize South not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Maize to exactly 19 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-19.

Bella Cook paced Maize South's offense, picking up ten kills. Cook got some help from Autumn Popp and her 23 assists. Popp also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Sage Illian, each putting up two.

Despite the loss, Maize still got an impressive performance from Tinley Travis, who had 11 digs.

Maize South's victory bumped their record up to 29-3. As for Maize, their defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 13-15.

Coincidentally, Maize South and Maize will both be playing Hutchinson the next time they take the court. The Eagles will head out to face the Salthawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Mavericks will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
