Softball Recap: Carroll Takes a Loss

Carroll managed to slip by Long the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Carroll Eagles came up short against the Long Rebels on Thursday, falling 18-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1. As for Long, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carroll will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Russell County at 6:00 p.m. on March 31st. As for Long, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ashford at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.
