Basketball Recap: Waterloo West Takes a Loss

Waterloo West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Liberty Lightning 79-46. While losing is never fun, the Wahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Lightning are ranked 33rd).

Waterloo West's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

Waterloo West has already played their next contest, a 79-46 defeat against Iowa City on the 17th. Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
