Baseball Recap: Cedar Crest Takes a Loss

J.P. McCaskey hit Cedar Crest with a four-run sixth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons fell just short of the Red Tornado by a score of 9-8. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Tornado earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Isaac Kreider was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson DiBiaso, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Cedar Crest's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for J.P. McCaskey, their win ended a 16-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-16.

Cedar Crest and J.P. McCaskey could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Falcons (ranked 280th) will meet Northern Lebanon (ranked 46th) at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, J.P. McCaskey will square off against Elizabethtown at 4:15 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (512 vs. 209).
