There were few surprises in Washington high school football Friday night as the state's elite tuned up for the playoffs.

Class 3A favorite and No. 1-ranked O'Dea improved to 9-0 with a 42-7 win over Ferndale.

Among the favorites in 4A, No. 3 Lake Stevens (10-0) put up 40 or more in its eighth consecutive game in a 49-14 victory over Tahoma.

Tumwater (10-0) continues to look impressive in Class 2A, blasting Columbia River 66-13. The T-Birds have outscored their last six opponents 339-33.

Brackets for all six classifications will be announced at the conclusion of the WIAA seeding committee's meeting Sunday.
