Baseball Recap: South Jones Extends Winning Streak to Eight

South Jones lost a heartbreaker the last time they played West Jones, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's matchup. The South Jones Braves never let the West Jones Mustangs get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won seven contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

Dylan Causey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other pitching news, Micah Coutta looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Cambridge McDaniel, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Russ Thompson was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

The win (which was South Jones' eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for West Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.

South Jones will have a chance to go back-to-back against West Jones: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
