Baseball Recap: Whitko Takes a Loss

Whitko had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 11-13 to make it five. They lost 11-1 to the Peru Tigers. Surprisingly, this marked the Wildcats' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Whitko saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Harman, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Peru, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by eight runs or more this season.

On Peru's side, Gavin Eldridge was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Eldridge has posted since back in April. Bryce Hill was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whitko will head out to square off against Prairie Heights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Peru, they will venture away from home to challenge Lafayette Central Catholic at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
