Patapsco is 9-1 against Woodlawn since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Patriots will be playing at home against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Patapsco will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
If Patapsco beats Woodlawn with ten runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over Chesapeake on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Woodlawn hadn't done well against Carver A&T recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warriors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats, sneaking past 8-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
Jacob Howard was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jayden Johnson was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Michael Robinson, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Patapsco pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 14.9 runs this season. As for Woodlawn, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.
Patapsco took their win against Woodlawn in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 14-4 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
