Softball Recap: South Lenoir Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for South Lenoir, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the East Duplin Panthers 8-6. The Blue Devils' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

South Lenoir pushed their record up to 2-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for East Duplin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Lenoir will square off against Midway at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Midway will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something South Lenoir surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Duplin, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Kinston at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
