Softball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View easily dispatched Gunn on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Spartans fell just short of the Los Altos Eagles by a score of 5-3 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Spartans have suffered against the Eagles since May 27, 2021.

Mountain View saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Courtenay Nappo, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Mountain View has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Los Altos, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Mountain View wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-2 victory against Milpitas on the 13th. As for Los Altos, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-3 win against Lincoln on the 13th.
