Baseball Recap: Summers County Comes Up Short

Summers County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 9-3 to the Waterford Wildcats.

Summers County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colten Jones, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Jake Boone was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Summers County's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Waterford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Summers County will take on Gilmer County in a tournament on Saturday. As for Waterford, they will square off against Trimble at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
