Baseball Recap: Altus Starts Season with Win at Home

Altus took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Clinton Red Tornadoes. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 8-4 victory the Red Tornadoes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2015.

Trent Carman made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

Carman wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Griffin Marshall, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That's the most runs Marshall has posted since back in March of 2024.

Coming up, Altus will be playing at home against Lawton at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be Altus' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Clinton, they are taking a road trip to take on Canute at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
