Basketball Recap: Myah Dickerson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lemon Bay over Heritage

On Monday, the Lemon Bay Manta Rays lost to the Heritage Panthers on the road by a 57-41 margin.

Lemon Bay's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Myah Dickerson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Dickerson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Maya Collins was another key player, putting up ten points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lemon Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 14 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

It was another big night for Kaeley Ciceron, who went 9 of 12 on her way to 20 points and five steals for Heritage. With that strong performance, Ciceron is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Melody Sanchez, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points and three steals.

Lemon Bay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Heritage, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Lemon Bay wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-30 victory against Westminster Christian on the 3rd. As for Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-44 win against American Heritage on the 3rd.
