Nimitz had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-9 to make it nine. They had to suffer through a 69-34 loss at the hands of the Pearce Mustangs. On the bright side, the 34- point performance marked the Vikings' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Nimitz's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jevon Woolfolk, who rushed for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one TD. Woolfolk showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 58 yards. Jaylin Harris was another key back, rushing for 151 yards and one score while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

As for Pearce, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 8.95 yards per carry in those games compared to only 3.54 in the others.
