Softball Recap: Wayne Takes a Loss

After flying high against Nitro on Friday, Wayne came back down to earth. Wayne came up short against the Lincoln County Panthers on Saturday, falling 9-2. The Pioneers have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Wayne saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Bishop, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Lincoln County, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Wayne will host Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lincoln County, they will face off against Hurricane at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
