The Red Mountain Mountain Lions will head out to take on the O'Connor Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Red Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Red Mountain is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Mountain View just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Toros by a score of 3-2.

Red Mountain got a good showing from Dylan Keith, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Red Mountain saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kale Thorson, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

O'Connor not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 13-1). They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over Pinnacle.

O'Connor is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Red Mountain, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 18-5.

Red Mountain couldn't quite finish off O'Connor in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Mountain Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
