Football Game Preview: Bismarck Lions vs. McGehee Owls + Official Tickets

The Bismarck Lions will challenge the McGehee Owls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bismarck knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully McGehee likes a good challenge.

Bismarck is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They didn't even let Lavaca on the board, marking the Lions' second-straight 57-0 shutout. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Golden Arrows are ranked 147th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bismarck to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caedmon Keithley, who rushed for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 54 yards. Clayton Martinez was in the mix as well, providing Bismarck with one TD.

Bismarck didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Cayden Burch and Keithley. Keithley is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Bismarck received some extra help from Martinez, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Meanwhile, McGehee took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 46-8 win over Magnet Cove. Considering the Owls have won four matchups by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bismarck's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for McGehee, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Bismarck suffered a grim 42-20 defeat to McGehee when the teams last played back in November of 2020. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
