Basketball Recap: South Davidson Comes Up Short

South Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 50-38 to the West Davidson Dragons. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Dragons from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Davidson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Motlei Stovall, who went 6 for 14 on her way to 15 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Stovall also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Wyatt Cooper was another key player, going 5 of 9 on her way to 11 points and five rebounds.

South Davidson's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for West Davidson, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 5-10 record this season.

South Davidson will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North Moore at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for West Davidson, they will welcome East Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
