The matchup between Salinas and Pacific Grove on Friday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Salinas Cowboys walked away with a 15-11 victory over the Pacific Grove Breakers. The Cowboys haven't had any issues with the Breakers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Dezmond Corn was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Rainey, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Salinas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pacific Grove only posted a batting average of .296.

Salinas' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Pacific Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salinas will venture away from home to face off against Soledad at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pacific Grove, they will head out to take on Carmel at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
