Volleyball Recap: Oblong Extends Winning Streak to Three

Oblong had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Hutsonville/Palestine Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ella Jenkins paced Oblong's offense, picking up six kills. Jenkins got some help from Brylee Murray and her 12 assists. Jenkins also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Layla Krick, racking up three apiece.

Oblong's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Hutsonville/Palestine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Oblong wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Red Hill on the 20th. As for Hutsonville/Palestine, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Martinsville on the 20th.
