Football Recap: Weston Trojans vs. Joel Barlow Falcons
Weston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Joel Barlow Falcons at home and fell 49-13. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 30-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.
Although Weston took the loss, they still got scores from Tyler Umhoefer and Maddox Parsons.
Leading Joel Barlow to victory were Scott Romano and Jack Gilbert. Romano rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while Gilbert rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Gilbert also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack, making four total tackles, and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.
Weston's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Joel Barlow, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
