There's no place like home for Carl Hayden Community, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Alhambra Lions on Monday. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

While Carl Hayden Community might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Alhambra scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 22-25, 26-24.

Saul Nunez paced Carl Hayden Community's offense, picking up 13 kills. Nunez got some help from Sebasti?n Zazueta and his 25 assists. Nunez was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Despite the loss, Alhambra still got an impressive performance from Ivan Urias Guerrero, who had eight digs and three aces. Those eight digs gave Urias Guerrero a new career-high. Damien Payen also deserves some recognition as he had his first blocks of the season.

Carl Hayden Community's record is now 4-7. As for Alhambra, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Carl Hayden Community will head out to challenge Sunrise Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Alhambra, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fairfax at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
