After only two runs in their last game, Liberty made sure to put some runs up on the board against Boulder Creek on Monday. The Lions had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 13-11. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Justin Lavine looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Bobby Villa was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Marley Chancey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Liberty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Liberty's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-8. As for Boulder Creek, their record now sits at 12-10.

Liberty will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Jaguars: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
