Softball Game Preview: Glencoe Yellowjackets vs. Fort Payne Wildcats

The Glencoe Yellowjackets will take on the Fort Payne Wildcats in a tournament on Thursday. Glencoe will be strutting in after a victory while Fort Payne will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, Glencoe turned things around against Westbrook Christian on Thursday. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won five matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Fort Payne was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They fell just short of Boaz by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wildcats have suffered since February 21st.

Baylee Green made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Glencoe's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Fort Payne, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-7 record.
