Soccer Recap: Marist vs. Philomath
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marist had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Philomath Warriors 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on four straight.

Libby Mclaughlin scored both of Marist's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 25 goals.
Marist pushed their record up to 15-1-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those nine games. As for Philomath, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4-2.
Marist will square off against Scappoose on Tuesday. Scappoose will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Marist surely won't give up without a fight. Philomath does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
