Baseball Recap: Rose Bud Snags Seventh Win in Last Nine Games

Rose Bud made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carlisle, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Rose Bud was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Carlisle on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Ramblers, who have now won seven matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Jay Bell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Bell was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Calan English was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dylan Hunkapiller, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Rose Bud was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .417 or higher in three consecutive games.

Rose Bud has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. The defeat snapped Carlisle's winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Looking ahead, Rose Bud will take on Dardanelle in a tournament on Saturday. As for Carlisle, they will venture away from home to face off against Melbourne at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Melbourne will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Carlisle surely won't give up without a fight.
