After only 13 points in their last matchup, Heritage made sure to put some points up on the board against Golden on Thursday. The Eagles took their game with ease, bagging a 56-28 win over the Demons. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mo Thenell produced another solid performance rushing for 295 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.9 yards per carry. Those five rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Cooper Schwartz was another key player, rushing for 120 yards and one score.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Heritage was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 556 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Golden lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Thatcher Matthews, who threw for 175 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown. Golden's leading receiver Ethan Bonafede was Matthews' top target yet again, picking up 119 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Heritage has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Golden fell to 5-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Heritage is set to take on their familiar foe Dakota Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,048 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Golden will face off against rival Bear Creek at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Matthews and Riley Wilson.
