Football Recap: Boulder Turns Things Around After Road Loss + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Boulder, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 27-22 victory over the Lakewood Tigers on Friday. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Benny Hovermale had an outrageously good game as he picked up 54 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 44 yards and one TD. Those 44 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Ethan Toth was another key player, having thrown for 258 yards and two touchdowns.

Boulder didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Lakewood to a completion percentage of just 41.5%. The Panthers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 71.4%.

Boulder didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jack Neslage.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Caleb Garcia, who picked up 69 receiving yards and three scores. Kasten Steinke was another key player, throwing for 257 yards and three TDs.

Boulder's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Lakewood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Boulder didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-17 defeat against Mountain Range on the 9th. As for Lakewood, they have also already played their next matchup, a 49-0 loss against Northglenn on the 10th.
