Softball Recap: Hubbertville Sets Scoring Season-High Against Brilliant

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hubbertville). They came out on top against the Brilliant Tigers by a score of 11-6 on Tuesday. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Addison Tucker was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Pollard, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

Tucker wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hubbertville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Hubbertville's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Brilliant, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hubbertville will be taking part in a tournament against Carbon Hill at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brilliant, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Brilliant Tigers duke it out with Berry Wildcats at 4:00 a.m. on Saturday.
