Basketball Recap: Union Grove Wolverines vs. Locust Grove Wildcats

The Union Grove Wolverines scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Locust Grove for the full four quarters, racking up a 82-9 victory at home. Winning may never get old, but Union Grove sure is getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Union Grove had a senior duo take command as Jordan Brooks scored 15 points along with six assists and four steals and Nadea Smith scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Brooks is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 16 games she's played. Julia Baker was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six steals.

Union Grove pushed their record up to 20-1 with that victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.4 points per game. As for Locust Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Union Grove's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Ola is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Locust Grove, they will head out on the road to take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
