Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Mascoutah

Mascoutah had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They beat the Triad Knights by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Knights back in April, they had to take a 5-4 loss.

Faith Moore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Jaila Moore was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

Mascoutah's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Triad, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 16-7 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mascoutah will head out to challenge Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Triad, they will venture away from home to square off against Civic Memorial at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Eagles have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
