Volleyball Recap: Franklin Academy Panthers vs. Everglades Gators

Franklin Academy and Everglades squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Franklin Academy had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on April 9th.

Despite the defeat, Franklin Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Penco-Marshal had ten digs and two aces. Those aces marked the first that Penco-Marshal has served this season.

Franklin Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for Everglades, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.

Franklin Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Everglades, they will face off against Pembroke Pines Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Gators surely won't give up without a fight.
