Basketball Recap: North Bend Comes Up Short

North Bend has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Marshfield Pirates. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 51-47.

North Bend's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Marshfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Bend has already played their next game (against Junction City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marshfield will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cottage Grove at 5:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marshfield has four straight wins, Cottage Grove has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
