Volleyball Recap: Newton Local Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Newton Local was the 3-1 winner over Dixie when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Indians fell just short of the Greyhounds by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Newton Local was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Dixie work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 23-25, 18-25, 25-14, 15-11.

Estie Rapp paced Newton Local's offense, picking up 19 kills. Rapp got some help from Aubrey Stetzel and her 27 assists. Rapp was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Dixie can attribute much of their success to Bethany Himan, who had 20 digs and one assist. Those 20 digs gave Himan a new career-high.

Newton Local's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Dixie, their victory ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.

Newton Local has already played their next match, a 3-1 loss against Ansonia on the 23rd. As for Dixie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Greeneview on the 20th.
