Oak Forest has gone a perfect 10-0 against Evergreen Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Bengals will take on the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Oak Forest came out on top against Hillcrest on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run second inning. The Bengals' pitchers stepped up to hand the Hawks a 13-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Bengals sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Justin Gibbs was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Bryce Hoffman looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Vince Weber and Kevin Sullivan did most of the damage at the plate: Weber went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Sullivan went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Sullivan a new career-high. Shane Walsh also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Evergreen Park got the win against Thornton Fractional North on Tuesday by a conclusive 19-1. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Meteors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Aramis Campos looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
At the plate, Carlos Flores was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cadyn Kummer, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Oak Forest pushed their record up to 9-6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Evergreen Park, their record is now 15-4.
Oak Forest skirted past Evergreen Park 2-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
