Basketball Recap: Farmington Takes a Loss

Farmington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were outmatched by the Canton Little Giants and fell 65-17. The Farmers lost against the Little Giants in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 44-40 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Farmington lost, don't look at Averie GilstrAp. Despite the final result, she posted five points.

Allison Wheeler was her usual excellent self, going 5-for-10 to rack up 13 points along with five assists and five boards for Canton. What's more, Wheeler posted four steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Demler, who scored nine points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Farmington's defeat dropped their record down to 6-25. As for Canton, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-14.

Farmington does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canton, they have already played their next game, a 47-35 win against Macomb on the 17th.
